Safeguarding Statement

‘Charles Kingsley’s Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff, governors, volunteers and visitors to share this commitment.’

This means that have child protection and safeguarding policies and procedures in place and all staff, including supply teachers, volunteers and governors must ensure they are aware of these procedures.

Sometimes we may need to share information and work in partnership with other agencies when there are concerns about a child’s welfare. We will ensure that our concerns about pupils are discussed with his/her parents first unless we have reason to believe that such a move would be contrary to the child’s welfare.

Our Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) is:
Mrs Zoe Charlton
Our Deputy Designated Safeguarding Leads are:
Mrs Natalie Connelly
Mrs Annabel Watson

All staff and volunteers at Charles Kingsley’s School undergo checks by the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS), are fully familiar with our Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy, E-Safety Policy, Whistle-Blowing Policy and the DfE publication ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education.’ All staff have recently undertaken Channel General Awareness (preventing vulnerable people from being drawn into terrorism) training as part of the PREVENT programme.
