What is Safeguarding?
Safeguarding is defined as:
protecting children from maltreatment;
preventing impairment of children’s health or development;
ensuring that children grow up in circumstances consistent with the provision of safe and effective care;
taking action to enable all children to have the best outcomes.
Where a child is suffering significant harm, or is likely to do so, action should be taken to protect that child.
Charles Kingsley’s CE Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
Our school takes its responsibility for safeguarding very seriously. Staff are encouraged to report any concerns about the wellbeing of our pupils to the Designated Safeguarding Officer or one of the deputies.
Designated Safeguarding Officer: Zoe Charlton (Headteacher)
Deputy Safeguarding Officer: Louise Taylor (Assistant Headteacher)
Deputy Safeguarding Officer: Natalie Connelly (Assistant Headteacher)
If you are concerned about the welfare of a child you are encouraged to report it to one of the above or to ring Hampshire Children’s Services on 03005551384. For out of hour’s call 0300 5551373.
In our school, adults attend safeguarding training annually and the officers receive external updates to their training.
