FOCKSA

FOCKSA (Friends of Charles Kingsley's School Association) is an active part of the school community. The committee is made up of parents, staff and governors and is a registered charity which raises money for additional activities, equipment and events for the children of the school which the school are unable to fund themselves.

So far this year they have funded the Listen 2 Me sessions for Year 6, 4 and 1, paid for the amazing M and M Pantomime - Beauty and the Beast and bought much needed IT equipment for the school.

They have organised many events in school throughout the year to raise funds, some old favourites returning after COVID - the very enjoyable and well attended Christmas Fair and new events such as Wreath Making Evenings and Make at Home Pizza Evenings. The Movie night was such a success that there is a new one planned for later this term. The Pub Quiz night is also returning before Easter (the last one was 2019).

Bags2School continues to raise money while helping people clear space in their houses. £425 was raised with the Spring collection.

Watch out for upcoming events and how to get involved in the weekly newsletter and on the FOCKSA facebook page.

The CKS Family Colour Run

In July we had the very first FOCKSA Colour Run and what an amazing event it was!  The weather may not have been kind to us in the set up but by the time it came to run, walk and get covered in colour it was warm and sunny.  The smiles and laughter from everyone at this family event was heart-warming to see.  The Band mainly Year 10 students from Yateley School entertained the runners as they relaxed on the school field with refreshments. Aaron Hopkins one of our parents took loads of amazing photos of the day that have been shared with the children. A huge thank you to the FOCKSA committee for their hours of preparation and to all the volunteers who helped at some point with the event.  FOCKSA would like to say a special thank you to the Year 5 pupils for blowing up the balloons for the finishing post, Year 6 and especially Isabelle and Alexandra and Thomas S (Y4) for their help on Friday afternoon and to John, Santana and Fleur for their help tidying on Saturday evening.
