- "Serve one another humbly in love" Galatians 5:13b
Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
Mrs Carlton's final Candlelit Carols helped us all think about the magic and true meaning of Christmas before we finished for the Christmas holidays.
The children got to share some of their favourite songs from the different Christmas performances to help share the Nativity story.
As the story came to a close baby Jesus was placed into the Nativity scene and a time of quiet reflection was had.
For the first time ever the Year 5 and 6 have done a joint Christmas Performance using the facilities at Yateley School. It was a huge success with many children showing their talents and gaining confidence from performing in a different place to a large audience. All the CKS staff that were involved to saw the performances were wowed and were so incredibly proud.
The classrooms were full of jingling bells, flashing lights, sparkling sequins, Father Christmases, elves and even festive dinosaurs and unicorns as the children and staff showed off their Christmas jumpers. The excitement didn't stop there it was Christmas lunch. Thanks to reading guardians, governors and FOCKSA committee members the children were served their Christmas dinner before a visit from the Big Man himself, whose elves placed a present for every child into the classrooms.
A huge thank you to the HC3S staff in the kitchen for all their hard work on the day and in preparation.
It was a cold evening outside St. Mary's Church but the fires and hot refreshments kept us warm. The year 3 and 4 children used songs and reading to tell the Nativity story as of the service. St. Mary's Choir sang and then there were the community carols that everyone could join in with. We all left with warm hearts even if your fingers and toes were a little chilly.
The first football game of the year was played this evening. Unfortunately we had a third of our team off but the remaining members showed grit and determination, even though the score didn't go our way.
Some of the children represented CKS at Elvetham Heath for the KS1 school games. As always they made Mrs Jary and Steve proud.
The youngest members of CKS impressed their parents and grandparents with their Nativity told through nursery rhyme tunes and adapted lyrics.
The singing, the dancing and the acting the Year 1 and 2 Christmas Performance had it all. They wowed, making their parents and the staff so incredibly proud.
It was also so lovely to welcome parents back into school to watch a Christmas performance just how it should be.
Those watching tomorrow morning are in for a real treat.
There was such a buzz of excitement as the children left school this evening in anticipation of returning to the school for the Christmas Fayre. It didn't disappoint and the smiles and laughter as games were won, prizes were chosen and people picked out the lucky numbers filled every FOCKSA committee member and CKS staff member with pride. Seeing old faces of pupils and parents and hearing people catching up on news including universities, jobs and ideas for the future, proved just what a family CKS is.
A huge thank you to the volunteers and their families for making the first Christmas fayre since 2019 such a success.
The school was looking festive for the perspective parent open morning. The excitement of Advent radiating from all the classrooms.
