If you would like your child to attend our school, please see full details of our admission arrangements below.

Applications to the school are made through the Hampshire County Council Admissions Web Page: Admissions - Hampshire

As an Aided Church of England School, we have our own Admissions Policy which explains all admissions arrangements, how we consider applications for every year group, over-subscription criteria (if required) and how we offer places should there be more applicants than places.

Please see below our Admissions Policy for 2021/22 and 2022/23. This includes a supplementary application form at the end of the document which is used in addition to the Hampshire County Council On-Line process, if you intend to apply on faith grounds.

Please call the school office is you require any further information about our school’s admission arrangements.

OPEN DAY EVENTS for parents with children starting school in September 2022

Application deadline is midnight on

Saturday 15th January 2022

This is a difficult and confusing time…you want to make the right choice.  At Charles Kingsley's we want your child to settle quickly into the life of the school and to be happy and fulfilled. The school is characterised by the strong partnership between pupils, staff, parents and Governors. Through the hard work and passion of all those involved in the school, we have been able to create and maintain excellent standards. The ethos of the school is to encourage and nurture the strengths and talents of all and to create a positive and successful spirit. Through our values we believe we prepare your child to meet the challenges the future holds and lay sound foundations for all future learning.

If you want to come and learn more about our “Outstanding” Church school, (Ofsted 2011, SIAMS 2016), our Open Evening Events will be held on:

Tuesday 28th September at 7pm

Tuesday 5th October at 7pm

Wednesday 20th October at 7pm

Monday 15th  November at 7pm

The visit will start with a presentation from Headteacher, Mrs Charlton and an opportunity to view the school. If you like what you hear and see we will then book you in for a tour during the school working day.

Due to Covid 19 Restrictions, each event will be capped therefore and must be pre booked. Please contact the school office on 0118-9732187 or to book your place at one of these events and for more details.

Feedback from Year R 2020 Open Day Events

We will ensure that anybody making an appeal will receive at least 10 days school notice of their appeal hearing.  Furthermore, we will ensure that decision letters are sent out within 5 school days of the hearing whenever possible.

Year R Pupil Admission Numbers as per Admissions Policy

We were concerned due to COVID 19 how parents would be able to meet the criteria of Faith Support for the period of lock down. Our policy stated that in order to be accepted as faith, you must have proof that you have worshipped regularly for 24 months. We appreciate this might have been a challenge. As CKS is an over-subscribed school, this will need to be addressed as many parents apply to us under the faith criteria and this faith support has a higher ranking priority within our policy.

We therefore made an application to the Office of the Schools Adjudicator (OSA) in respect of the Admissions Policy for 2021. The information regarding this application can be seen below.

We have received notification that the application was accepted and therefore updated our 2021 Admissions Policy.
