Wellbeing

At Charles Kingsley's C of E Primary School, we pride ourselves on our approach to supporting the wellbeing of our school community. Our inclusion lead, Mrs Taylor, is a trained senior mental health leader and is responsible for driving our approach to wellbeing.

Once a term, we hold our amazing 'Wellbeing Wednesdays'. This is when our entire school spends the day getting outside and focuses on their wellbeing. Some of the activities we have done on these days include:

  • Toasting marshmallows and making popcorn at our firepit
  • Birdwatching
  • Visiting the Bluebell Woods
  • Making bug hotels

Here are some of the things our children say about our Wellbeing Wednesdays:

"This is the best day ever!"

"I am so happy, I love Wellbeing Wednesday"

"This is the best popcorn I've ever had because it was made on the campfire"

"When can we do this again?"

Anxious thinking:

Please find attached some support tools created by the Hampshire Educational Psychology Service, these aim to support us all in helping both ourselves and our children manage the negative effects of anxious thoughts. Please do take the time to read these, some of which may just serve as a useful reminder.
