  • Well Being Wednesday

Wed 07 Jun 2023 Mrs Taylor

The sun shone for our very first Wellbeing Wednesday!

Thank you to the staff for embracing our new initiative and getting outdoors with the children, using a fire pit with children is very brave but very worth it!

The children have taken part across the school in a range of exciting activities aiming to enhance their emotional and mental health and wellbeing. Some of which have included time spent pond dipping (not only did one class find 13 Newts but another found an ‘enormous sea creature!’), whittling, gardening, orienteering, cloud gazing (in the morning, there weren’t any in the afternoon!) and of course visiting our brand-new fire pit.

During the course of the day we have really valued listening to the children and hearing how they feel. We would like to share the following snippets with you.

    “I’m soooooooooo excited!”

“This is the best day of my life”

    “I’m so, so, so happy!”

“ I really enjoyed today because I got to have fun and be with my friends but still learn”

“I loved today because it was Wellbeing Wednesday, festival day and being outside all day”

“I enjoyed everything about this day it was wonderful”

“After today I feel really calm, relaxed and good about myself”

“I loved the relaxation because we were outside”

“I loved being outside it was fun, adventures and more relaxed”

“Being outside made me feel a lot less rushed”

“I enjoyed the orienteering we worked as a team, we got to socialise with others and everyone was included”

“I liked the whole day, it was a mix of physical fitness and helping your wellbeing”

“Being all together at the fire pit makes me feel safe”

“I enjoyed whittling, I’ve never done it before, it was a little bit dangerous so I learnt take safe risks”

    “It was calm and creative”

“We were able to interactive with everybody and saw people from other classes all day, which makes me happy”

“The fire pit makes our school a unique place to be. We are so lucky”
